The Fated Couple - Chapter 2

Year 1942

Rose

It has been a year since I've started interacting with this John. I gave him ideas and he worked his magic. He was charming, witty, smart and most importantly handsome.

I watched as John worked on my latest blueprint. He was covered in dust with his slightly long brown hair tied up in a small pony, his sleeves folded up, showing his tan skin and beads of sweat trickling his forehead. I could keep looking at him forever.

"Hey, you are staring as if you'll burn a hole through me".

He smirked, "Like what you see".

I rolled my eyes and hurried off to the kitchen. I couldn't let him see me turning into a tomato.

I fumbled through some ingredients and put together a sandwich. I knew how John would sometimes forget to eat or drink while working. That's how focused he would be. I felt proud to be in the same room as him. He didn't understand how much talented he was. He was perfect. My kind of perfect.

I grabbed the tray and stepped in to the living room where he was working. "We should go out".

He raised his eyebrow, "Suddenly?"

"Uh.. I mean you've been holded up here since a couple of weeks. I think getting some fresh air would do good for you... I mean us"

"Oh yeah, sure let's go out. What do you have in mind?"

"I've always wanted to visit the circus. There is one in town. So what do you say?"

"Your wish is my command lady", he bowed.

I couldn't stop laughing at his politeness.
...

Time flew and I knew what I had to do. *Coughs*.

"John, I have something to discuss with you"

"Yeah, go head"

"I want you to continue on your research the one you gave up on".

"Rose, you know there is no hope for that".

"But, you can. I believe in you. Please John do it for me".

I could see the gears turning in his head. He was hesitant but I needed him to do this. I placed my hand his, reassuring him, convincing him.

"Fine, I'll try once more".

*Coughs*

"You okay? You've been coughing a lot lately".

"I'm fine John, Don't worry", I smiled.

Everything will be fine. I might not be by your side for much long, know that I'll always be with you.

Finding Happiness

Welcome to my very first blog. Considering I'm new to this world, I really hope you would pardon my mistakes. This will be a series of such blogs as we try to figure some of the essential truths of life. I hope you enjoy this journey.   Let's see what is this thing called as happiness is all about. I can tell you one thing for certain that each and everyone of us including me and you are after this feeling. So we work day and night, stressing ourselves, trying to find this emotion. In fact so much so that we end up dedicating our entire life for this cause. You might say-'No that's not right not all of us are running behind happiness. Everyone has their own needs'. To answer that question let me explain it to you this way. Sure people have different desires and ambitions but tell me something what is it are you trying to accomplish by fulfilling them? Got the answer? Yes that's what I am trying to say. You may have your own way sorted out to get to this state of...

Good or Bad

The above picture, most of you already know what this is. For those of you who are not aware, it is a symbol from Taoism. Don't get me wrong I'm not preaching a religion here but I am trying to get a point across. It depicts two kinds of energy- Yin and Yang. Yin stands for darkness or negative energy whereas Yang stands for light and positive energy. It symbolizes a perfect union between light and dark. The best part comes when you notice the little dots belonging to the opposite energy. Interpretation is pretty simple, in dark there is light and in light there is dark.  One thing that we all agree on is the fact that good and bad can't exists without the other. If there was no bad then there would have been no way to define the good. Similarly, if there was no good then bad would not have existed either. The point is each of us carry seeds of both. When the need arises we switch between them yet we often find ourselves being partial towards one of them.  Coming back to th...

Fly

I wonder if Icarus knew Would he fear falling And give up freedom Or would he still wish he could fly Imagine having wings Soring high above the ground Flying up and beyond Until everything becomes as tiny as a dot Escaping the gravity that pulls you down You rise higher and higher Where the earth screams beneath, 'Beware the fall' The wind brushing your cheecks A laugh escapes your lips 'Free at last', your lungs sigh With the taste of freedom as swwet as honey No noise from below reaches your ears When the listener becomes the speaker And have conversations deeper than the sea From up there you see the beauty Intricately designed just for you Every puzzle piece falls into its place As a grand plan gets revealed If I were him I would choose to fly The sun might burn my wings But in that moment I will be free. -Radha
