Celebrating Uniqueness

Today's blog is all about how unique everyone is! Can you believe in a crowd of 7.6 billion there is no one like you?! I know most of you would go like "Duh!". I know but tell me how many times have we pushed this tiny little fact under the rug.

In this age of competitiveness, all of us are trying to be someone or at least trying to surpass them but the first stop is no doubt, seeing yourself on par with this person, isn't it? You would say having an idol or an example set in front of us is actually what you call as an inspiration. I'm not denying that believe me, even I have my idols that I look up to but, instead of upholding their values and principles but deep down we just want to achieve the same accomplishments as the other or perhaps want to achieve even more. You see most of us are lost, we are just following people and trying to catch up and eventually we forget our own unique selves. How many of us have tried to put up a façade just to fit in. So many thoughts and opinions pushed back down into the depth of our hearts just because we were afraid of being different. Hey, I've done it too so you are not the only one, trust me and tell you what I'm not very proud of it. It never works no matter how thick your mask is they are never going to be happy. Then why do we even bother to hide our true selves for people who won't accepts us no matter what we do. You'll always find yourself to be not enough. So I suggest let's stop wasting our lives trying to convince the so called society and just live it on our terms.

When I talk about being unique or different I'm not necessarily looking at your success or talents per se, sure they are a part of you but they don't define you. What makes us so different from each other is our capability of seeing things from different perspectives. The way you think, process situations, emotions and opinions is unique only to you. Another which sets us apart is how you make people feel about themselves as well as about you. No one can bring them to smile like you do, no one can make them laugh like you do and no one can give them pep talks like you do, no one can immerse themselves the way you do when you enjoy something truly from all your heart, no one can take care of things precious to you like you do and lastly no one can love like you do.

With this I conclude, let's celebrate our uniqueness instead of hiding it, we are like tiny suns waiting for the clouds of fear and judgements to part, so why wait for a gust of wind, shine so bright that your rays break through this mist.

Finding Happiness

Welcome to my very first blog. Considering I'm new to this world, I really hope you would pardon my mistakes. This will be a series of such blogs as we try to figure some of the essential truths of life. I hope you enjoy this journey.   Let's see what is this thing called as happiness is all about. I can tell you one thing for certain that each and everyone of us including me and you are after this feeling. So we work day and night, stressing ourselves, trying to find this emotion. In fact so much so that we end up dedicating our entire life for this cause. You might say-'No that's not right not all of us are running behind happiness. Everyone has their own needs'. To answer that question let me explain it to you this way. Sure people have different desires and ambitions but tell me something what is it are you trying to accomplish by fulfilling them? Got the answer? Yes that's what I am trying to say. You may have your own way sorted out to get to this state of...

My Journey

A small piece I wrote sometime ago I sit by the window While the train starts to move The wind rustles in my ears A rush of excitement pumps through me As I begin my journey I tease the birds who fly above See I'm faster than you now, I laugh I watch as the trees dance with the wind My heart rejoicing with them I clap like a child, amazed by God's work As the train passes by Scenes change as seasons Sometimes it's winter, sometimes it's spring We near another station And I gear up to say, Thank you I wave a goodbye At the people on the station As I welcome new passengers Companions on my journey With smiles and warmth Then I play a game of hide and seek With the sun and the moon As the sun hides behind the mountains The moon along with his stars Take turns lighting up the sky As I near the end of my journey The train gets emptier and emptier And Aloha! My destination comes A kind hand as soft as a petal reaches me I grab on, leaving the train to go back home - VJ
