Defining a Purpose

Now most of us are trying to answer the question- What is the purpose of my life? Why am I here? It's not just you who wonders that I do too. So let's break down and figure out for ourselves a purpose.

Before we jump onto finding the purpose of our lives, answer this- why does it matter? The answer would be pretty simple, it may have different parables and the magnitude might differ from person to person, the point is each one of us wants to make a difference in this world, leave a mark, become someone on whom people rely on and inspire change in the world. That's what defines as our purpose, isn't it? Searching for something which is greater than 'me'.

Now there is another purpose which goes something like this, "We are here to have the time of our lives. So we should live as if it's our last day". Well you are not wrong. Life is precious and you should make each and every second count. The thing is you should not let others define the way you live your life. If you plan on making this as your purpose remember this, do not live your life based on the fear of missing out when you peek into someone else's life, it should be on your own terms. Sometimes we often forget to be thankful for all the moments in our life and we keep chasing and chasing and try to live everything in a rush. So stop, before you set out for another grand adventure and be thankful for all the memories that you created in your previous ones. You'll only be able to enjoy when you live in that moment and not planning for something far off in your future.

Coming to the people who live for their family and friends. You want to become the person they can count on. Shoulder the responsibility, it is a fine purpose, the perfect family man/woman. One thing that you should keep in check is that you are doing all of this on your own accord, nobody told you to do so, therefore they don't owe you anything. You might be someone on whom they depend on but their life is their own. You don't have the right to make decisions for them. Sure you can give them advice and guidance but you cannot walk the path for them. Allow them to boom, make name for themselves. A bird feeds the chicks until they become strong enough to fend for themselves. Your job is not to cut off their wings, your job is that of a caretaker. This purpose will become shot spanned if you decide to play the king but if you decide to take on the role of the adviser, Your words will have an impact for generations to come.

For all of you who aim to find the love of their life. I've already talked about love in my previous blog so do check it out. Consider this, rather than finding be found. Out of all the purposes, influencing change is the most toughest of all. You might have heard, to bring the change be the change. In simple terms, lead by example, that's the only way to achieve it.

Gathering fame, recognition, money is another one of the purposes. Respect is important but why does it have to be from someone else. The moment you loose your status the same people who raised you on their shoulders will abandon you and the day you get it all back they re-enter your life. Be aware of these type of people because they are either searching for a way to get your guard down or they are someone who need something from you. Instead keep a close eye on people who criticize you because they are the ones that will actually boost your morale. Money is fickle in nature. One moment it is in your hand and in the next it is on someone else's so no matter how much money you gather it is never really going to satisfy you. It will keep demanding more and more from you. Same with fame and recognition, people will put their expectations and desires on you and you would have no choice but to fulfill them and in that process you'll keep adding a fake layer of yourself and sooner or later you'll forget to even recognize the person you would have become. Redefine your goal something along the lines, Pursuing your passion and concentrate on becoming the best version of yourself, the rest will follow.

There are some of us who have "Hero complex". These are the kind of people who want to help others, contribute to the society. They make this as their purpose. Let me tell you, it's a noble cause and if you are one of them then my respect for you has grown even more. One thing to look after is your ego. There will come a time when you will be appreciated for all the things you have done for them but do not let it go to your head. Your noble cause will turn into a selfish goal. Look at the forest, such big and mighty trees growing, who planted them? who took care of them? No one. It is one of the nature's incredible power. Now look at your own garden. You planted the seeds, watered them daily and nurtured until they developed into fruitful plants. Just imagine if these plants were in the forest, don't you think they would have grown all by themselves. Nature could have easily took care of them. The point is when you go out there to lend a hand do not think 'it is I who is doing' instead think 'it is happening through me'. The nature\universe\God uses rain, soil, wind and sun to nurture so become one of nature's tool, a medium through which some of the most incredible things happen.

With this I conclude, Life is beautiful and amazing do not try to separate it from yourself become a part of it. Be a part of giving and receiving process. Be independent but do not stay aloof. Life is not watched it is to be lived. It is all about the balance that you create. Whichever purpose you have chosen, 'your higher calling' , just set out and fly.

The Fated Couple - Chapter 1

"Grandpa, Tell me more about yours inventions!" "Yes... I was an inventory once, *scoffs* what a fool I was...". "Why do you say that? Aren't inventors really cool!" He adjusted his glasses to take a better look, "Mateo... was it? I once thought I could play with time. Only to have it play me". "". John started rocking in his chair as he closed his eyes remembering, "It all started in 1941..." Year 1941 John I chugged a bottle of rum to drown all the noise inside my head. I spent years to invent the machine that could make history, I even refused other ideas. They were right...with no investors, no money, I'm here spending my last dime to get drunk and get wasted. Is this how it ends for me? I lost my balance and almost tripped on the stairs when a hand grabbed a hold of me. Everything was a blur, the last thing I saw was someone with a blue hat and a dress before loosing consciousness. I woke up to a wooden ceiling. ...

The Fated Couple - Chapter 2

Year 1942  Rose It has been a year since I've started interacting with this John. I gave him ideas and he worked his magic. He was charming, witty, smart and most importantly handsome. I watched as John worked on my latest blueprint. He was covered in dust with his slightly long brown hair tied up in a small pony, his sleeves folded up, showing his tan skin and beads of sweat trickling his forehead. I could keep looking at him forever . "Hey, you are staring as if you'll burn a hole through me". He smirked, "Like what you see". I rolled my eyes and hurried off to the kitchen. I couldn't let him see me turning into a tomato. I fumbled through some ingredients and put together a sandwich. I knew how John would sometimes forget to eat or drink while working. That's how focused he would be. I felt proud to be in the same room as him. He didn't understand how much talented he was. He was perfect. My kind of perfect. I grabbed the tray and stepped in t...
