The Fated Couple - Chapter 3

Year 1943

John

I was concerned. Rose's coughing fit had increased ten fold. No matter how many times I suggested her for us to visit a doctor, she always declined saying that she was okay. But I knew she was growing week and frail.

Me on the other hand, I was surprisingly making good progress with my invention. It was as if she was my lucky charm.
...

I was working as usual when I heard a loud *thud* come from the kitchen. I rushed in only to find Rose sprawled on the ground with drops of blood everywhere. I took her in my arms, I wuldn't believe what I was seeing, my heart leaped to my throat. My panic kept rising in my chest, unable to form senetnces as I held her, terrified to lose her. She said in the faintest voice, "I know how this looks, but don't worry, everything's going just as planned".

"Planned? What are you talking about? You are sick we need to go to a doctor!"

"No! Listen to me, what I am about to tell you. I am from the future. I used the time machine, the same one you are currently building. You make it possible for us to travel through time. Isn't that lovely, my dear husband".

Tears stung in my eyes, "I don't get it, if you are here from the future why are you like this? Just why have I not saved you yet"

"Shh... This was meant to be. You'll meet me again. I may not recognise you but you will. I have to go now. I can't let you see me fade away. And always *coughs* remember, I am with you, always... Do not follow me"

She got up wobbling on her feet and made it outside the room, by the time I had registered what had happened, I ran outside, but she was nowhere to be found.
...

Each day was a stab in the chest without her, I continued my work on the mahine in hopes of seeing her, meeting her again. Shwa called me her huband, that means we got married at some point. This invetion was my only shot.

Days went by and then the time came when I finally met her once again in 1950 while stroling through the streets, just as she had predicted. She had worn the same blue dress, the one I saw her in, when we first met. I started showing up every single day to the same restraunt and watched her from afar as she giggled with her friends. She was so close yet so far away, I decided to approach with her favourite bouquet of flowers, tidied up with the best suit I had.

"Do I know you?"

"No, But you are about to beautiful", I winked.

"What a creep!" , she slapped me in the face as she walked away.

I persued her, day and night, she might've thought of me as stalker at this point but I kept at it.

From being there with her when she lost her sister, to congratulating her birthday - I showed up everyday. She laughed at my silly jokes and cried in my arms, every piece of puzzle was finally coming into it's place.

We sat under the stars, while holding hands in silence. She started, "I've noticed the way you see me sometimes. You treat me as if I'll disappear and sometimes I see so much pain in your eyes. Do I remind you of someone that you lost?"

"I do..."

With silent tears I cried and cried in her lap. She comforted me, there were no wrods echanged yet it felt as if everthing were spoken that night.

Celebrating Uniqueness

Today's blog is all about how unique everyone is! Can you believe in a crowd of 7.6 billion there is no one like you?! I know most of you would go like "Duh!". I know but tell me how many times have we pushed this tiny little fact under the rug.  In this age of competitiveness, all of us are trying to be someone or at least trying to surpass them but the first stop is no doubt, seeing yourself on par with this person, isn't it? You would say having an idol or an example set in front of us is actually what you call as an inspiration. I'm not denying that believe me, even I have my idols that I look up to but, instead of upholding their values and principles but deep down we just want to achieve the same accomplishments as the other or perhaps want to achieve even more. You see most of us are lost, we are just following people and trying to catch up and eventually we forget our own unique selves. How many of us have tried to put up a façade just to fit in. So many t...

Finding Happiness

Welcome to my very first blog. Considering I'm new to this world, I really hope you would pardon my mistakes. This will be a series of such blogs as we try to figure some of the essential truths of life. I hope you enjoy this journey.   Let's see what is this thing called as happiness is all about. I can tell you one thing for certain that each and everyone of us including me and you are after this feeling. So we work day and night, stressing ourselves, trying to find this emotion. In fact so much so that we end up dedicating our entire life for this cause. You might say-'No that's not right not all of us are running behind happiness. Everyone has their own needs'. To answer that question let me explain it to you this way. Sure people have different desires and ambitions but tell me something what is it are you trying to accomplish by fulfilling them? Got the answer? Yes that's what I am trying to say. You may have your own way sorted out to get to this state of...

Good or Bad

The above picture, most of you already know what this is. For those of you who are not aware, it is a symbol from Taoism. Don't get me wrong I'm not preaching a religion here but I am trying to get a point across. It depicts two kinds of energy- Yin and Yang. Yin stands for darkness or negative energy whereas Yang stands for light and positive energy. It symbolizes a perfect union between light and dark. The best part comes when you notice the little dots belonging to the opposite energy. Interpretation is pretty simple, in dark there is light and in light there is dark.  One thing that we all agree on is the fact that good and bad can't exists without the other. If there was no bad then there would have been no way to define the good. Similarly, if there was no good then bad would not have existed either. The point is each of us carry seeds of both. When the need arises we switch between them yet we often find ourselves being partial towards one of them.  Coming back to th...
